STEWARDSHIP
Christ the King Parish

We at Christ The King Parish view ourselves as a Stewardship Parish, but what does that really mean?

The concept of Stewardship is that God owns everything. We have been chosen through our Baptism to gratefully accept this gift, cultivate and grow it, and return this abundance lovingly to God and each other. Stewardship is a spiritual way of living and giving time, talent, and treasure are important components. Stewardship is a way of life rather than duty. When we embrace Stewardship it becomes part of us, a visceral response to lovingly live our lives as God’s people.

“When Jesus saw the widow putting her “two pennies” in the Temple treasury, He told His disciples,

“Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. For they all contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, her whole living” (Mk. 12:43-44)”

The Stewardship Council will continue to help guide the Parish to embrace a spiritual way of living a life that is whole, “whole living,” one of Catholic Stewardship here and in communities where we live, work and play beyond the parish doors.

In the fall of each year, our Stewardship Month focuses on opportunities for living a life of Stewardship. But it doesn’t stop there. Please seek out Fr Jared and members of ministries and committees where you know your gifts will make a difference.

Our Parish Journey

Christ the King Parish Mission Statement

Christ the King Parish is a welcoming and open Catholic community, believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We live out the challenge of our Baptism by sharing Time, Talent and Treasure. We strive though the celebration of the Eucharist and participation in lay ministries, educational opportunities and community outreach to become the eyes and hands of Christ.

Stewardship Mission Statement

As christian Stewards, we receive God’s gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, share them in loving justice with others and return them with increase to the Lord.”

Stewardship Council Statement of Belief

“We believe that Stewardship is a spirituality that flows from our Baptism. It is our mission to lead, educate and provide members of this community of faith opportunities to share their time, talent and treasure with grateful hearts.”

Stewardship Prayer

O God, I resolve to put You first in my life. I recognize that You have blessed me with all that I have and all that I am. I commit to giving back to You the first portion of my blessings. Doing so may seem scary at times, but I hear ”Do not worry any more,” and I know that I can depend on You.

I resolve to sacrifice when necessary but always to do so out of a spirit of sincere love, just as Your Son, Jesus did for me.
I humbly accept the challenge to share from my means rather than from my excess.
I recognize that being a good steward is nothing more than being truly Christian. From my heart, I thank You, Lord for blessing me and I trust in Your love.

Dear God, I resolve to be generous with my time, talent and treasure, giving in the proportion to the gifts I have received. At times I may fail, but I pledge to keep trying. In doing so I will confidently live each day with a spirit of true peace and joy.
